There is 1 directory and 2 files that may be present.

The directory is upgrade which can contain kernel upgrades.

The files are KoboRoot.tgz and manifest.md5sum.

Not all firmware packages have the upgrades directory -- the original Touch models that use Mark 3 firmware have not had an upgrades directory since the 2.6.1 update.
