Lin Carter had nothing to do with this edition. Also, the man is dead. Back in the late '70s Lin Carter edited a 2-volume edition, as part of its Ballantine Adult Fantasy series.

So: it should correctly read this way:

"The Well at the World's End," by William Morris and Dr. Drib.
Usually, it means that this edition has a forward or introduction by the other authors listed.
