Where would you create a thread of its own for this interesting conversation?
- Kobo reader (general) forum, because it concerns how to read and edit epubs for kobo
- Kobo developper, because it talks about the software
?

Well, yes, it has gone somehow offtopic, (and techy and freaky ) but it started pretty "on-topic".

Let's summarize for common world people:
  • I posted an "issue" still present in FW 3.8.0 about duplicated entries in ToCs for sideloaded kepubs. (epubs are free of this "issue").
  • That's not an issue with Kobo software because it's probably a bug in the book itself.
  • (... some weird discussion here... toc is red, but ncx is yellow... ...)
  • (... more weird discussion here about epub3 against epub2... epub3 is blue but epub2 is orange ...)
  • But then, there's probably a bug in Kobo navigation bar. This problem arises with books that contain links in the ToC through fragment ids. In plain words: in books which don't have each "chapter" in a different and dedicated html file. It happens if the epub, (and therefore the kepub), has chapters, divisions, sections, articles, (whatever), grouped in books, parts, tomes or whatever.
