Today we went to the shelter and picked up the kittens we had chosen. Came home and had to spend hours being a lump while they decided I wasn't evil. During that time, I realized that I was being, ahem, less than intelligent about this feature.
If I add a *separate option* for "default sort when no grouping" (or something like that, please help!), then none of the grouping tables and related code are affected. There is exactly one place in the code that deals with taps on "Groups", and I could easily invoke the sort there. Thus I take back my "it can't be done", changing it to "it can be done but in different way".
I am having trouble coming up with the short text that describes what this option would do. It needs to be around 25 characters or less and it can't imply a "default sort". It should mention tapping on "Groups" if it fits. Examples: "Sort when Groups (no grouping) is tapped" (too long). Suggestions welcome.
