I actually have both paperwhites, and had charged them with this in mind.
When the frontlights are off, the 2013 KPW has a slightly darker screen than the Aura H2O. I want to say that it is slightly more brown, but it's hard to pin down the specific shade when it's that close to white.
With the frontlights on, the screen on the Aura H2O is both whiter and brighter.
