2nd Tier TOC and Links Do Not Work Correctly After Uploading to Nook Press
After uploading my books to my Nook Press account as ePubs, my second tier table of contents items and all internal links do not function correctly. Second tier TOC items land at the beginning of the chapter they are subordinate to rather than at the target within the chapter, which are all at the beginning of sections. And internal links land at the beginning of the chapter in which their targets reside rather than at the targets.
This happens both in the Nook preview and in the book when it is purchased and downloaded to either my Nook Simple Touch or Nook PC. Unfortunately, I foolishly didn't test the links in preview before publishing the books, as I had thoroughly tested them before uploading.
I tested the books on my Simple Touch, Nook PC, Nook Android and ADE before uploading them to my Nook Press account and everything worked correctly; the first and second tier TOC items landed where they were supposed to and the internal links all landed at their targets.
It appears that B&N does something to the ePub files after they are uploaded. It's obviously not their reading software that is causing the problem, as the links in my ePubs work correctly in their software prior to uploading. Both books passed ePub validation.
I have an XHTML TOC as well as a toc.ncx that is set up as a two tier menu with <meta name="dtb:depth" content="2"/>. The internal links are basic text anchors aimed at a target. Each chapter is a separate XHTML file.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated.
