Some of the first T68s had a touchscreen accuracy problem that the firmware update was supposed to fix. It fixed that issue in my first T68, but it had other problems, so I returned it for a refund. Then, I used the refund to buy a second one. It had issues right from the get-go. That one, too, was sent back for a refund. Now I'm on my third, which I have had for nearly a month. It works perfectly. Did I have merely bad luck, or is there a quality control problem? I can't say from my own experience, but it seems like the latter might be the case. Like you, I have had other devices (Nook Simple Touch and the Kindle PW2) that never had any issues.
That's a long intro, just to say that you should return or exchange your T68. Should you get another? That's up to you. I wanted an E-Ink Android device so i could do some serious reading and research on certain apps, as well as read eBooks. Now that I have a T68 that works, the effort seems worth it to me.
