Yes, the TV series is superb. Essie Davis
owns Phryne and really gives you a perfect sense of the character and the time. I first encountered Phryne in the series, and then went to read the books. The series and the books complement each other, and the series is a fairly accurate representation of the books, though I admit to missing Mrs. Butler. OTOH, I know the limitations of budgets and TV.
