I always sleep it (using the sleep cover)
The power switch doesn't seem solid enough for me.Not sure how long it will hold (if i turn it off and on on a daily basis)
No official KOBO customer service available in my country so troubleshooting will be difficult.
If you wont be using your device for a relatively long period (e.g. days or weeks），just shut it.
