I can understand not liking the slide, but the way back original Kobo(s) had a press button and the problem was that it would accidentally get pushed and turn the device on when it wasn't in use. In fairness it did stick out (which the light switch doesn't), but if you have a flush power button you're also going to have people complaining that they can't find it easily .

I really don't change the light level very often or even turn it on and off independent of the device, but one downfall I can see some people having with the H2O is going to be no on/off button. Yes you can slide it (likely to zero) but then you have to find the brightness level you want again rather than just turn it off and have it come back to the same level when you turn it back on.
