You can track Sony products. All are much overpriced when they come out, but then forced to reduce price by half because of other producers' out on sale.

But if you want this product now, you pay the price. If you wish to wait, then by all means do so.
overpriced is a subjective term and will mean something different to you than it does to me. If and when Sony start selling this unit in the UK, there's a good chance I will stump up for it. And it would be worth the money for my use case. Of course I would prefer it to be less expensive but I may not necessarily consider it
overpriced.
Regarding Pocketbook, there are so many cases of vapourware in the history of computing devices that one learns to take delivery promises with more than just a grain of salt.
In any case, nobody is suggesting you go out and buy one. Whether I buy one or not depends on my circumstances and they differ from yours.
