Amazon offered to have it sent again but I was going out of town. They gave me a $5 credit and told me to contact them again if I couldn't work it out with the post office. The post office made the delivery person come out again to deliver it on July 3rd about 4:00 - I guess they saw I had my mail stopped so they couldn't just make me wait until July 5.
My hubby just found this months delivery out on the sidewalk - it was left yesterday morning. We had torrential rains yesterday and the box and everything in it was soaked. After a chat with Amazon, they created another order and will send it asap. If UPS had delivered, it would have been put in a plastic bag and left by the front door where there is an overhang that could have protected it some.
Even though Amazon is responsible for the delivery, this seems like more of a problem with the USPS than Amazon. Amazon is taking care of things in the end for me, but I wonder how long they will keep using USPS in some areas.

USPS is fine here. We have a Box with a key they leave tenants packages in. They have only once deliver them to the door. UPS is okay. I think UPS guy is slowly warming up to me. The last delivery he told me to be careful it's heavy. I told him it was a cat litter and he said "What no dogs?" I told him no just two cats anxious for their litter from Amazon. That is the most he has ever spoken to me. My old UPS guy in Tennessee we talked all the time. He was awesome!
FedEx is the one I do not like. Never the same people and I've yet to get a package in good shape. The box always looks like an elephant sat on it.
