I can't detect any scratches at all on my Aura, but I keep it in a book-type cover, not a sleeve. I have longish fingernails, too, but I'm reasonably careful with them.
Discuss with the seller, I guess, about the apparent vulnerability; but scratches don't materialise - something has happened to your device.
