I was not speaking of freezing the PW1, I was referring to freezing the PW line in favor of the theoretical waterproof watever line.

Amazon already has a basic line frozen in development in every respect, for the low-end group, and the Touch/PW line of decent devices with modern tech, with active development, with hardware upgrades and matched with software innovation (to watever extent that may matter).

If they made a premium waterproof model, they must either freeze the Touch/PW line of middle-class Kindles, or keep both lines in active HW/SW development. Either edge out the majority of buyers in favor of a premium line, or commit to developing and marketing two Kindles. And Amazon doesn't strike me as interested in doing so.
