I tested putting image links in comments then merging books and polishing the merged book. I didn't see anything happen with comments, images and jackets that I thought was a problem with EpubMerge.
Whatever you're seeing, I believe it has to do with how you're using and customizing the metadata jacket feature.

Upon reflection, I don't think what you're asking for, or what I gave you in the previous test version, are very good solutions. In both cases, how would you tell where the comments for one book end and the next begin?
Attached is another test version that (optionally--check it again, it changed name) puts the comments for each merged book right after the title plus an <hr> tag divider. As before, authors are only included if there's more than one.
