That's clever.

Clever enough, in fact, that I think this can be the official solution for now.

It's been 1.5 years since Polish Book was added to calibre and you're the first user I've heard of trying to Polish merged epubs of Polished epubs. So I think it's a rare problem.

I'll think about it some more. But unless a brilliant idea comes up, I think this is it.
