Just out of curiosity, do you happen to be using Firefox with either the EPUBReader or Lucifox plugin active?
Because if you do and try to download a B&N-DRM book, then it silently fails because the plugin tries to load any epub into its own library instead of asking/saving to disk, but can't because of the DRM.
Even if that's not the case, you might get better results by using the old
NOOKstudy program to download your books*, even though it'll take longer since it insists on fetching and syncing your entire NOOK library catalogue.

Sometimes the B&N servers time out your login cookies or whatever after 15-20 minutes when downloading directly via the website and cuts you off in the middle. So NOOKstudy might end up being the only way to get a very large file if you've a relatively slow connection which can't grab 700+ megs within that time limit, as I've found out.
