And yet, if Amazon's page count is correct (296), then wouldn't the terror stop at page 296 when one finishes reading the book? He boldly states that "...[terror] never stops!" If one agrees with Stine that the terror does, indeed, continue AFTER reading the book, will the terror at some point cease to exist?

Too, since this is 'Book One,' what happens to the terror when/if starting 'Book Two'? Does the terror continue to escalate, if we agree with Stine's assertion that the terror continues and never stops?

I think you can now fully appreciate my confusion in this matter.

In the future, to avoid any further confusion, you may wish to read the reviews before posting a freebie here.
Bah, that's just author promo noises, the way that Anne McCaffrey would blurb-praise a whole bunch of fantasy she probably never actually read. It's not like that's a real review.

Besides, for him, perhaps the terror never stops because he never finished reading the book because one of the "dozens of frightening surprises" just proved to be way too much.

Why, just look at these four Amazon listings for books by "R. L. Stine (Author) & R. L. Stine (Author)", all released shortly after the original publication of this freebie. Clearly he's been living in a state of fear and trauma ever since, and has developed a split personality/tulpa-like doppelganger to compensate.

See? The terror didn't stop and continues to this day. He's spaaaaawning!!!!!
