@ducks: thanks for the advice.
Running 2.1 now. Had to download with Chrome.
I don't have any download accelerators (unless you're referring to download status bar as an accelerator in which case I should point out the downloads weren't correct both before and after installing download status bar.) and my rig is relatively hardened.
But if there's something that you know and are willing to share, I'm more than happy to check it out.
