Is this just an XP problem (Linux Calibre will still update) or is it Hardware related like the lack of SSE2 (I have an old AMD Athelon that stopped running Sigil because of no SSE2).

As far as I can tell, W8 will not run on a P4 (only has SSE2), of which I have 3 systems (1 uses RDRAM )
