I just sold my Kobo Aura HD, as the experiment to use it as an android ereader essentially failed (biggest show-stopper was the power consumption, but not being able to boot easily into Android didn't help matters).

In addition to the units you suggested, I'm also eyeing the imcoV6L (http://www.imcosys.com/e-reader.html), and it's successor, the imcoV6Lpro.

Finally, although it's near in specs to the Boyue, the ICARUS Illumina HD can be found on Amazon (you mentioned that shipping the Boyue from China might have issues for you).
