Agreeing with the title of this thread:
I've spent over a month on this decision and in the end what I want is best summarised by the features of the upcoming plastic logic product (assuming it's launched in Q1 or Q2 next year):
- no compromise in reading all your existing content
- ability to create an enewspaper by wirelessly syncing feeds
- touchscreen (including gestures and annotation)
- same long battery life as current ereaders (other than Iliad)
- plastic substrate screen for more durability
- ability to read any kind of content including newly purchased content
After looking in depth at each of Sony 700, 505, Iliad, bebook, cybook and the price in Aussie dollars it seems worth waiting for the new devices that will come in next year. I've always been an early adopter of new technology but the time does not seem right just yet.
