@stoney77: I have been using the calibre v2 betas since they first appeared. I have not seen any issues with the Kobo devices.
As PeterT said, check the configuration is still what you want. If you have started or stopped using the extended driver, make sure you have configured the correct driver. Then run a check on the database using the utilities plugin. If all that is OK, run in debug mode and post the complete log. That usually tells me what is happening.
