Flexible shatterproof screen, if you want to put it in your pocket. And I have to agree that I can't stand that shape - solar cells (perhaps the bezel would be an option for this?) would be far preferable for me; otherwise, perhaps in a separate cover, like that Kindle case from ages ago.
