I had a some problems with The Outlander, but all in all I thought it was a fairly good tale. I didn't think it was overly graphic in its depiction of the sex or that sex played too large a role, although a few of the things Claire did made me wonder if she had more than a bit of a kinky streak (was she a masochist?) and I did wonder at her obvious lack of any guilt over the fact that she was bonking someone not her husband who she loved and to whom earlier in the book she could not picture herself as ever being unfaithful, but it didn't really ruin the story for me. What may have helped the book for me is that, not being a student of the history of the era and locality, I didn't pick up on all the historical inaccuracies that so many other MobileReaders have complained about.
