Hi, I am new to MobileRead but not new to books and e-books.
I have a Kindle Paperwhite, as well as an iPad, but generally use the Kindle to read books. I typically read Mystery/Thriller/Detective with some General Literary Fiction (ex.
The Signature of All Things,
The Light Between Oceans,
The Orphan Train, etc.) thrown in here and there. Occasional non-fiction.
I've read 32 books so far this year (43 in 2013 and 68 in 2012). 2013 was a low-count year because I read the Diana Gabaldon
Outlander series 1-7. The
Outlander historic fiction is not my usual genre, but someone talked me into reading the first one and I was hooked.
I use Calibre and love it to keep my books converted as needed and organized. The "catalog" feature of Calibre is so handy to open in Excel, sort by author/title/timestamp and copy the final files to Dropbox for reference. I also create a Calibre catalog of just the books on my Kindle with each's summary info, open the catalog in Excel, and create two spreadsheets based on author name and title name. I convert them to pdf and copy to the Kindle docs folder so I can always look to see what a book is about when I am away from home and want something new.
I look forward to enjoying the MobileRead site.
