I've read the whole series to date, and I like it as much as Dresden. I did find the third book a little slow. There is a character introduced in the latest book (#7, but I guess he is technically introduced earlier) that provides Atticus with someone to answer to. The dialogue is hilarious.
For the record, I wasn't sold by the first two Dresden books. I only kept reading because the series came so highly recommended.

I had a similar experience with The Dresden Files. I was not really impressed with the first book but kept reading. Saw improvement in the 2nd book and was totally hooked by the end of the 3rd.
If it had not been recommended by a friend, and I had not bought the first 3 books at once, I may never have gotten past the first book. So glad I did.
