I want an unlocked phone because I have more choices. I use no-contract AT&T, and the options there are very limited. Plus they will push a data plan on me, and I don't want that; I like my very frugal flat 10-cents-a-minute for voice calls.

My tech savviness is very limited--it seemed like a really big deal to me to get an unlocked phone last year! But since it worked fine, I figured that was the way to go again now.
