So many of the listings at Amazon don't even mention which Android version the phone is using. It's beyond annoying.

I was looking at these:
But I never heard of BLU and haven't done any research yet.
Never heard of that brand. Personally, I'd hold out for at least 1 GB of RAM. These have 512 MB.

Last Black Friday, I bought a Samsung Galaxy Ring for about $50. I gave it to my son to replace his aging iPod touch 3.

Samsung Galaxy Ring
  • Android -- 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • CPU: 1.4 GHz -- single-core Snapdragon S2
  • RAM: 1.0 GB
  • Storage: 4 GB -- mSD card slot
  • Display: 4" -- 800x480 -- 233 ppi
  • Cams: 1.3 MP -- 5 MP
Great media player for the price. This should easily last 2-3 years before the OS won't run newer apps. This pricing is in Sansa Clip territory, so replacements won't be painful. Final cost will be less than $2 per month.
