Pressure DOES matter

I've tried the light tap and hold and the page turns for me. If I exert SLIGHTLY more pressure and hold, the definition turns up.

A light tap and moving the finger activates the highlight.

Maybe the OP should try my method before giving up altogether.

There may be a layer underneath which needs contact to activate the dictionary. Its also possible that his unit is defective.
