Wednesday's (and to a lesser extent, Thursday's) torrential rains and subsequent flooding, sufficiently severe to trigger storm alerts, float cars, close roadways and airport runways, and flood basements, has given way to a gorgeous sunny Friday characterized by lovely ocean-scented air and lush greenery.
