Additionally or alternatively, you can read the Amazon Kindle books on your PC or Mac computer by one of at least two apps:
-Kindle for PC
-Kindle Cloud Reader (there's nothing to install, as the name suggests, the reader is in "the cloud" (i.e., on Amazon's computers (in very basic terms)).

You also can buy a portable reader, such as the Kindle, Kindle Fire, or Kindle HDX, to which you easily can download Kindle books and read them. I am not very familiar with the Fire and HDX, but I'm pretty sure that they may have additional capability, such as the ability to go on the Web. You can use your iPad to read Kindle books, but (this device is also one which I am not familiar with so someone may have to correct me) it may not be as easy as using a Kindle device or one of the apps that I mentioned in the first paragraph. As someone posted, you can go to the iPad forum to learn how to read Kindle books on it.
