I bought Calibre Companion a while back, and while it's a nice little app, there's one thing that makes me give up every time.
It doesn't scan and read the books already on my device. I have several devices that I read on, and they don't all have the same books. So I need something that knows what's already on the device, so the books aren't duplicated. For instance, I only keep a few books on my phone, but my large tablet has everything, and it's a Windows one, so I can't use CC. My small tablet has around 300 books but only reads the few I've tried on CC, and then they're dupes.
Ideally, when I point Calibre to my Books file, it should be able to read the books already there.
It doesn't read anything it hasn't downloaded for itself.
I would love to use it as an organiser. It's a great idea, but unless I'm prepared to use the Companion alone, it's not feasible.
