Some years ago (maybe 15?), Robin Williams popped in at a comedy club I was at in NYC, to the surprise and delight of the establishment as well as us patrons. Of course, Mr. Williams stole the show. My observation even then: he was brilliant, but manic. Ever since, I've wondered how he could focus long enough to follow a script or be still when scenes required it. But he managed to do so and consistently delivered excellent performances onscreen as well as onstage.
I'm very saddened by Mr. Williams' death and by the despair he must have felt before taking his life.
