Actually, I think maybe the best solution for reflowed pdfs on a handheld may be to use reduced size images that expand to a scrollable/draggable full size image when tapped.

In a way, you can consider yourself lucky that you have images at all... I think some programs don't even show them when you reflow a pdf document.

But there are options available in adobe reader if I remember correctly during the conversion step... at least in the last PalmOS version I tried. Is there maybe one option in there for image handling that could help?
