@Ken Maltby: The server stores a full gzipped tarball, true, but zsync should be doing magic on its end to build a new non-gzipped tarball by only downloading a delta of the changes (hence the need to build a local tarball of the current install first).
(zsync is basically rsync w/ smart gzip handling over HTTP).
