I was planning to include a wifi option to the next version of KSM. The reason for this is that I also want to add a web browser (there is a picture of the test version).
For starting and stopping wifi, I currently using two scripts that Cgm999 provided. You can connect only to already know networks. That means that one has to use nickel at least for the initial identification (or one fills in the data manually).
Since there seems to be some need now, I upload the two scripts. Copy the script files to .kobo/kbmenu/scripts directory or create a sub folder (e.g. /wifi) there and copy them to it. The script as it is now is for dhcp. If you have a static address, change it (just a matter of commenting and uncommenting),
