well...
pleased that my concerns have been noted and validated...
but with Kobo android app releases happening only every 6 months or so, and no guarantee that it will ever be made to behave like the previous version, it looks like I need to find better android epub reader app.
luckily moon + reader pro is 50% off until tomorrow, and has lots of line-spacing control and font options... in fact it seems to do all that the Kobo app did & much more...
