You could use Java... Kindlets (like KUAL itself) are java applets.

More common to compile unix executables. At least, most of the stuff I have installed.

(kterm, skipstone, leafpad, midori, screen savers, usbnetwork. Plus the helper bash scripts. And Collections Manager kindlet, with a bash launcher through KUAL.)
