The periodicals/newspaper aspect of the 'cover' part of the screensaver hack is turned on through a KUAL menu option for this hack. You will need to install KUAL if you haven't yet...not sure if you'll need to reinstall the SS hack after installing KUAL to get the SS menu options to show (probably), but it can't hurt.
