Remove prior coverpage attempts

This make a separate coverpage file/section in your book

Add the Image file the normal way. It should now be listed in the Images list.

Tools: Add cover: (Select image from List): OK

Save book
Done

This procedure also marks both the coverpage and image as 'cover' in the OPF


could not be simpler

BTW this defaults to maintain the Aspect ratio, not stretch it out. (change the value of aspect section in the to "none" if you want distortion
