I changed my wifi settings last night and wifi turned itself off while I was doing it. I made all the changes and left it for a few hours and it only used up .3% per hour - not so bad. I used it for a while again and it was ok, no turning off, but when I actually used wifi it still used a lot of battery. There was around 46% battery left and I left it overnight.
When I picked it up earlier today, it was frozen. I thought it must have run the battery down overnight so I plugged it in. It wouldn't turn back on until it was plugged in for 1/2 hour and then it had 60% battery so it had just been frozen. I had to remove the sd card for it to finally stop rebooting. When I used it for a while it again used a lot of battery and started boot looping when I got below 50% battery. It's going back.
I did find something else weird after looking at all the wireless settings though. From Android Wireless &networks settings I went to More..., then Mobile network settings - Data enabled was checked (Enable data access over Mobile network was enabled). I guess that's why I saw high use of cell standby.
