So, Python 2 is now legacy. So, in the future, some windows incarnations might not support it anymore.

You mean they will strip the compiled binaries from the repos and stuff. You will still be able to build it yourself, and standalone binaries which bundle python2 with all dependencies (few) will continue to work.

So, you'll have to build it yourself.
And my question would be, how would I be able to explain to my mother to build it herself so she can continue to work with it?
