Well, it seems the jet stream has unexpectedly dipped south and allowed some cooler, less humid air to flow SE from Canada ... beautiful today .... predictions claim no temps over 90 F for at least a week!
This is highly abnormal summer weather for NC - usually we have uninterrupted weeks/months of 90+F temps with >90% humidity levels. I think this is the same weather pattern (courtesy of the polar vortex and a wandering jet stream) that funneled snow & bitter cold fronts once a week during the winter into the SE. If so, we're doomed this winter!
