Trigger warnings though, in the first book the heroine is raped by the bad guy (not overly violent, but it is described). So far in the second book the hero has a night with a serving wench 5 years after marriage to the heroine, with the wedding unconsummated (separated due to war).

ETA - Another trigger thing, in the first book the bad guy was VERY bad and some of the things he did to torture a victim are mentioned. It's done to another bad guy, but still the things mentioned were gross. 'Course I'm a WUSS. :P
