Sorry, there is no way I would have gotten that meaning from what you said. As you said "without having to remove DRM", that seemed to imply you were sending books with DRM from other stores to the Kindle. The post you quoted and the discussion leading to it was talking about books with DRM. The argument was that there are more sources for DRM protected books that the Kobo can read than there are for the Kindle. As far as I know, Amazon is the only one place to buy DRM protected books that can be read unchanged on a Kindle.
As to how easy it is to get a book onto the devices, I don't know if I agree. Getting a DRM free book from a PC to a Kindle via email sounds easy. But, it needs a working internet connection, an email client, an accessible mail server and a WiFi connection for the Kindle. To do the same for the Kobo just needs a USB cable. And no extra software is needed, just copy the file using the OS.
As to price, so far I think I have bought about 10% of my books from Amazon. Most of the rest come from Kobo. Most of those were cheaper from Kobo. The few that weren't were so close that the convenience of buying from Kobo (syncing and epub version) made up for it. Yes, I do use Kobo promotion codes, but that's part of finding the lowest price option for the books I want.
