Heres what I tried now... Reset device, connect to computer and reformat it to FAT32 (not quick format), reset (reinitialized) again just incase.... started calibre and pluged in the device...
All good, no errors. tried to send a pdf to the device and then:
calibre, version 1.46.0

[Errno 13] Permission denied: u'G:\\metadata.calibre'

Edit: btw the pdf still got to the device. But now when i restart calibre:
