Usually, I don't call it either of those. When I buy it, I ask for 'lamyai.' (Google brings up the same images for that.) I didn't even know the English name for these for my first few years in S.E. Asia!

Ah, yes, I just tried googling "longon" and it has the same result. Interesting. I guess both spellings are correct. My apology.
"Lamyai" is probably used in Thailand; we mostly use "longan" in Malaysia and Singapore.
