I was always the first or second person to have to sit down during spelling bees. Without 'spell check' I couldn't write a single sentence without mistakes.
But when I type 'longon' into Google, I get results showing both spellings, for text and images.
Usually, I don't call it either of those. When I buy it, I ask for
'lamyai.' (Google brings up the same images for that.) I didn't even know the English name for these for my first few years in S.E. Asia!
