I bought my Kobo new -BUT from Ebay from someone in Japan. I guess that means Im not under warranty -as I guess warranties are only applicable when sold through authorised retailers....I know know
@davidfor Are you saying the message doesn't change or the battery indicator doesn't show a charged battery when you disconnect?
The latter. When I plugin and charge for e.g 3 days )!) it seems to charge - but I don't get a 'charged' message when I disconnect. I just get the same 'please connect and recharge screen.
The problem is the upgrade happens when I select the option to 'connect to my wifi network. The only other option is to connect to my computer -which when I try just always shows the 'recharge screen' even when its recharged.
So I don't have any option but to install the upgrade.
I think I might just try downloading the old firmware and if that doesnt work accept defeat, throw it in the bin,and buy a new one one my credit card from an authorised dealer - so at least I should have 1 year of Kobo reading next time
